She'd Never Known

by Jesslynn   Aug 5, 2005

Put your arms around me and never let me go
This was our secret she never had to know

The stories you told drove me up the wall
Now at 9 o'clock I wait for your phone call

9 goes by and I don't hear a thing
At 10 I pray for the phone to ring

So many dirty thoughts began to run through my head
When I turned out the lights and listened to what you said

Your ideas excited me, what else can I say
They made my heart beat faster, I've never felt that way

You made me a promise I really wanted you to keep
But you started feeling guilty, I wouldn't have said a peep

Now I can't write you any stories or enjoy all of yours
We had a good thing going but then she slammed the doors

I don't think you feel the same way when you talk to her
We could talk about everything, I miss the way we were

We still talk but we can't say what we're really thinking
It hurts to lose my bestfriend if I could I'd take up drinking

I could talk to you about how I felt and you always understood
I knew it could end this way but I never thought it really would

I wanna talk to you without holding things in
I told you this was all a game I was never gonna win
