The messenger

by death-upon-death   Aug 5, 2005

God sent a messenger, to earth that day.
and told him to show his people the way.

look after them, tell them the wrong and the right.
and when they pass, to go to the light.

tell them to hope, to love and be free,
to never give up and be strong like me.

so the messenger left, closing the gates,
not aware yet of what may await.

through the clouds, its a long way down,
i can see the countries, wait cities, and now the towns.

he looked for a spot, a suitable place,
and landed on earth, so full of grace.

to his horror, he had found,
death and sadness, such a horrid sound.

but he knew what to do, no he mustn't forget,
for the people haven't learn their lesson yet.

no he mustn't give up,its gonna be tough,
but after I'm done they will no longer be rough.

he took his first step, not knowing whats to come,
but no oNE noticed, no one, not one.

for that second, a thought crossed his mind,
am i visible or are they just blind?

he took a hard gasp, to catch his voice,
but nothing came out, not one small noise.

how am i to do this, will my work be complete?
he felt so sad and looked down at his feet.

oh my god, oh my god, my sandals are gone!
how am i to get home to the cloud i live on?

he looked up, clouds started to part,
god said you are free now, you have a mortal heart.

my child you have done well, and put all trust in me,
in return for that I'm setting you free.

the human was scared, and felt so alone,
but i don't want to be here, i want to come home.

god replied my dear child your homes in my heart,
but i am giving you a fresh new start.

god smiled at the human and drifted away,
human whisper, god you will pay.....
