My Grandfather

by Nicolette   Aug 5, 2005

(this is dedicated to my best friend Brittany who lost her grandfather she loved him sooo much)

Went to school just another day,
Nothing in the way,
On the loud speaker they called my name,
Everybody laughed as I walk there in shame,

I picked it up,
listened to the voice,
couldn't believe it,
Ran to the classroom and grabbed my things,

Pulling everything with all the phews and lugs,
I just knew i HAD to be dreaming and not tearin,
But i soon found myself in my moms safe hugs,

In the ride back home,
Slamming my head on the glass,
I knew this pain had to pass,

We got home many phone calls were made,
As the image of him started to fade,
My sister's room was a mess,
As the hiding spots for his picture grew less and less,

Not many of the family members exactly thought,
That I would be the one that would have fought,

Not that many felt sorry for me,
Just my Bffs 3,
But now I know his spirit is free like a dove,
With his big heart of love.
