Descension

by Elizabeth Ann   Aug 6, 2005

I’m not the only one, slain your tongue a mouth gone dry?
Look at me *lifts her arms, dragging robes*
You’ve truly named my hunger praised your glance?
Save that dreaming lance and end
Joined with them, ye predator.

Save me from your suicide…
Based a leery sentinel set beside
Terrified thee bleary soul resides
Thine free will hath taken with me

Is satin black what leaves you?
Death like none before it isn’t peace.
Rest now…
As I command your ghost
Hitherto now a devil’s word your guide.

Do you call my name…?
As well your nightmares thee obsess
A faded loud where you hear nothing.
Grown apart your insides
No more soul to deliver.

You who’s ended life…
Becometh of thy nightmare
Where is mine an elder eternal
No closer to God, this one you fear.

Slighted once again, it bodes unfair
Awake and now erased
Anon their memory, those who mourned you…
So come, pitiful creature
Slide whereto further you are damned.

Another great write. As usual, I love your language, giving the poem the perfect atmosphere to capture the reader into the piece, and the imagery you set is telling the story within itself.

I love the objective of this piece and the way you put the act into place. The dark comparisons set the perfect mood, and the descent into darkness of which you describe throughout is drawn to a scale of poetic skill and structure that creates the act and pulls all comparisons together.
    Excellent
