At least she got a happy ending

by StormyWeather   Aug 8, 2005

Once upon a time there was a beautiful young girl, loved by her many friends and her family. She was my best friend. Her name was Lucy. I always envied Lucy. She would say to me, “You do not know how lucky you are”, but I knew it wasn’t true. Lucy’s father loved her very much. He used to touch her and kiss her and hug her all the time; Lucy told me she often spent nights up in his room with him, while he played games with her. Lucy’s mommy was very pretty. She was always happy, and just went with the flow… although she had this strange habit of sniffing, and her eyes went all watery and bloodshot. That lady was in love with the world, and she often had friends visiting her late at night. Lucy’s favourite game was hospital. She’s invite me over, and she’d already have her arm in a sling, ready to play. She was my best friend, Lucy was. It’s too bad that her mommy went too heaven. It made Lucy very sad. But her daddy was kind to her after that. He pretended not to care, and even invited his friends round to play games and cheer her up. I loved Lucy. It’s too bad that her daddy didn’t notice that her lemonade had arsenic in it. At least she got a happy ending.
