Suicidal Lovers

The night falls on evening,
Am I here?
Why isn’t he?
Should I be?

So I wait for him to come,
My hands have gone numb,
While I wait I think,
Did he have that drink?
Did he use the knife?
But he couldn't leave his wife.

Or could he be dead?
Thoughts rush through my head.

So I decide to walk,
What if he can’t talk?

So I ring, he’s not in,
He took his life,
How could he leave?
I can’t even grieve,

I walk in,
He’s on the floor
He couldn’t cope anymore.

So I kiss him on the head,
But he’s cold, he’s dead.

I take the knife,
Watch the blood run off my wrists,
Give him a last kiss.

Lie next to him on the floor,
Goodbye, I say, were not here anymore

They both went together,
Their pain is healed forever.

But will it be?
Are they really free?
