Thousands of soldiers

by Amy   Aug 12, 2005

This world doesn’t need another hero
It’s already doomed
We’ve lost any signs of hope
We have nothing left to loose

Thousands of soldiers
Just like you
Are sent to war
And blown into two

He sent them to their deaths
That bloody coward
Why don’t you go fight your own war?
Or are you to scared John Howard?

Are you too scared you might die?
Like thousands of us do
But that’s alright
As long as it doesn’t effect you

Why follow George Bush
Get your own mind
Do what’s right for Australia
Or are you so blind?

Is what he does for America
Really any better?
They are still fighting
And sending home death letters

Your responsible for them
For their well being
You know their dying
So why do you keep agreeing?

As you sleep tonight
In your nice warm bed
You don’t give a second thought
For those of us training for our deaths

Now it’s my chance to fight
My chance to cry
My chance to kill
And it’s my chance to die

Hey, I just wanted to say that I liked your poem, it made a good and blunt point. Im in the US and my man is in Iraq, and as much as I support HIM and what HE feels he has been called to do... I hate the fact that Bush sends our men all over the place to get killed, and then takes extra long vacations... cuz, ya know, he's just SUCH a great Pres its hard work to tell other people when to die... ugh! Nice job chick!

I wan't so sure about the title and the first verse in accordance, but i really like your message, its sad and strongly opinionated. You've certainly grown in talent!
