Monsters

by *heidi;   Aug 13, 2005

Once darkness falls the kids have much fear
all the moms say"there's nothing to be scared of dear"

but i say there is, just don't look under you bed
or the monsters will get you just as i said

in every kid's closet, there is a boogeyman
under every kid's bed is a monster no one can stand

but the parents don't know this
they just say good night and give their kids a kiss

so just count to 5 and it'll take away your fears
and after that you'll have no more tears

it'll get better when u turn 18
cuz then no more monsters are seen

from the boogeyman, you will be free
just keep counting, wait, and see

That was really cute. You did a good job contrasting the fantasies of little kids with the straight reality of adults. This was well written.
