Hiding Place

Let me tell you a tale
About a broken girl
Who wanted nothing more
Then to leave this cruel world

She had long, flowing hair
Black as the midnight sky
She had hazel eyes
Tear filled from all the lies

She had tattered wrists
From the pain held deep inside
She had ever-lasting pain
From the things she tried to hide

Nobody understood
Why this girl was so depressed
At first she was so normal
Happy and boy obsessed

But something changed within her
She cant even say why
And now she no longer feels happy
She just wants to die

She liked to confuse people
By smiling her perfect smile
And only she knew within
It was broken all the while

If someone asked her
are you OK?'
She would say fine thanks
And they would get confused and walk away

Everyone could see
The scars appearing on her arms
Running crimson rivers
From all the self-harm

One day this girl
Went missing from sight
She was hiding from her parents
Who had started to violently fight

She found in her hiding place
A piece of shattered glass
She picked it up off the ground
Watching the people as they passed

She wondered if they would hear her
Screaming from the pain
She wondered if they would care
If they never saw her again

She closed her eyes
As crimson tears began to fall
She wanted to escape
Just run away from it all

She lifted the glass
And brung it to her arm
Slashed it down
Trying to stay calm

She dropped to the floor
Blood pouring, tears dropping
Still slashing frantically
Not stopping

She became so weak
The glass dropped to the floor
She was in so much pain
Couldn't take anymore

She lay upon the ground
Her heart beat slowing
Blood still pouring
Tears still flowing

With one last shaky breath
She closed her hazel eyes
Feeling her pain going
As she slowly dies

I know the story of this girl so well
Because that girl will soon be me
Dying from my pain
This is how I want it to be.
