My Special Place

by Ashleigh Skye   Aug 15, 2005

Alone in the emerald forest,
as the sun hides it's face behind a cloud,
the gentle splashing of the waves,
has never seemed so loud.

The squawking of the birds,
as they soar magically overhead,
far off into the majestic sky,
which transforms from Sapphire blue to ruby red.

I can go from sorrow to joy,
quicker here than anywhere else I know,
because I see all the hidden beauty,
it'ss so much more than just a show.

My favorite place in the world,
for I'm never sad for to long,
cause when the pain's about to be set in deep,
the bird sings out it's song.

It's like my own private song,
he sings just when I'm blue,
and the trees and shrubs start dancing,
to a tune they always knew.

The water helps keep the beet,
as it laps against the shore,
and the sun becomes visible from behind a cloud,
just begging and screaming for more.

The sun is like the audience,
always there but not always seen,
but as soon as the birds start singing again,
the sun's back and just as keen.

The wind does back up vocals,
to the bird's favorite song,
and it's just one more component,
reminding me to stay strong.

And that's why its my favorite spot,
out of all the other's in time and space,
cause nothing else has this effect on me,
to quickly bring a smile to my face.
