Love doesn't conquer all

by Denise   Aug 17, 2005

They say love conquers all,
well it conquers our heart,
then breaks it apart.
I’ve known this from the start.
I don’t know why I continue to fall.
This time it was my fault.
I let him go.
I have no idea what I did that for.
Again my heart is sore.
At the sight of you two,
I realized I loved you so.
The tears swelled up inside,
I didn’t let them escape from my eyes.
I say I don’t care,
but I know it’s a lie.
It hurts more than ever
to know you no longer care.
I ‘ve said it once,
and I’ll say it again:
Hate has to be easy
because love breaks apart your heart.
Just learn to not care at all,
if you do you’ll end up writing poems
of how there’s never anyone t catch you when you fall.
