Haunted

by Shinnade   Aug 26, 2005

As I lay in a warm bed in a dark room of an old cursed home, I cant help but feel cold inside even thought the air around is hotter than the muggy wind before a monsoon starts. Before me I spy shadows creeping and darting across the walls of the moonlit room, some shadows lingering just long enough for me to catch a glimpse.
All I hear is a hush of silence echoing through the halls of the house after a door slams in one of the distant rooms.
The old depressed home smells of wet rotting wood that I can taste on my tongue and settling dust that threatens my nose of discomfort. As sleep calls me like a soft serene lullaby , I start to drift off. Blocking the haunting house of scary noises, dark shadows and rusty smells. Blocking the eternity home of many immortal lost souls and spirits.

Well first of all it doesn’t deserve a 3 (as previously voted). Its not exactly poetry but descriptive writing or prose with some interesting features. I like your many uses of personification and linking your words and ideas. A good title that matches what you’re explaining without being overly mentioned in the text. Some good interesting ideas and choice of structure. Keep it up.
    Peace.
