Why does love ache so much?

I missed him
Even when he was by my side.
Because he does'nt know the way I feel.
My feelings I have had to hide.

My heart aches
As well as my soul
My love for him
Is out of control.

He is in my thoughts,
His face never leaves my mind.
Three words "I love you"
Can be so unkind.

After I said them
A smile spread across his face.
But not one of a flattering kind,
But one of wickedness and hate.

He laughed
Right at me, then and there.
He didn't feel.
He did'nt care.

I can not eat.
I can not sleep
I lay there, alone in my room.
Watching and counting the sheep.

So why does he not care?
We did he laugh at me?
I showed him my feelings
And he ripped my heart into pieces of three.

So I am alone
Alone in this life.
No one to love
Through this pain ad strife.
