My Pen

by Ann Stareyes   Aug 29, 2005

So many times this old pen
Has written so much
Thoughts within a heart
Ways I've been touched.

Happiness I've conquered
Sadness I've endured
Pain inflicted upon me
Things can hurt for sure.

Releasing life's worries
Lifts burdens off our hearts
Being honest and truthful
Is where we should start.

This is when I lift my pen
The words flow so free
Finally a sense of peace
Found within me.

Words seem to flow so freely ...like the ink of a pen
Even the thoughts of sadness that we can't seem to comprehend ...

    Such a pretty poem Ann
