Soul

by Katherine A Lee   Aug 31, 2005

The walls are caving in, my defences down
You, Me, and what we've built together all seems to drown
In this pool of longing an intense despair
Separation kills and splits the soul in two
Whoever said that life isn't fair
Wasn't keeping someone from giving up what they knew
The fear, welling inside me, feels like the plundging of a cold knife
Into my soul, the icy hot breath of sadness takes my life
Clear blue pools of my eternal emotion come into view
And in the glistning mirror, all I see, staring back at me, is you
