Dead Body

Every memory came back to life
Every thought was thought again
Every feeling was felt again

She could almost hear their voices
She could almost smell their scents
She could almost touch them

Yearning for that love and attention
Yearning for the at home feeling
Yearning for the “safe” feeling she loved

Wishing she could feel it all again
Wishing nothing had changed
Wishing everything was back to normal

She thought everything was her fault
She figured it was somehow
She never thought it could be anybody else’s

Screaming her anger
Screaming her fear
Screaming her emotions

Always putting others first
Always putting herself last
Always giving out her love

Nobody could have guessed this
Nobody would have predicted it
Nobody even knew it was coming

She couldn’t handle the blame she put on herself
She couldn’t handle the emotions she felt
She couldn’t handle the pain she caused

A dead body lays here
A dead body is covered in blood
A dead body is her’s
