Have you been left to wonder, what we did so wrong?
Have you been left to wander, the path you wanted all along?
Have you watched the flaming sunlight pour down through the trees?
Have you heard it whispered; your name upon the breeze?
Do the clouds make shapes to tell you what went on?
Did you finally find happiness in a world that seemed so long gone?
Do the ponds that hold your reflection still show some innocence?
Or do they boil and ripple with your broken promises?
When the sun goes down, do you miss it? Or revel in the night?
When the birds are cheering do you still laugh in delight?
Do you still sit on the rocks and listen, for more than passing cars?
Do you listen to the water? Do you listen to the stars?
Is the face that haunts your nightmares a friend or one unknown?
And when you see the clear sky, do you also see yourself below?
I haven't seen you lately, haven't heard you cry
but if I said I was't looking, you'd know how much I lied
so I still sit and wonder, as my shadow dances all alone,
have you been left to wonder about me? I guess I'll never know
