Broken Heart

by Kelsey   Sep 6, 2005

A broken heart is best not left
A wound in need of care and rest
Perhaps a dosage of morning dew
Harnessed alone by a chosen few
And placed upon the tender sore
It burns with pain but you beg for more
Full speed against a wall
Jump from where fast you'll fall
Fearing not what is below
The cement road is just for show
With a blade, life's now more fun
Forgetting the demon that made you run
New wounds open upon the wrist
Blood flows faster when there's a fist
Dripping now from skin to floor
People screaming outside the door
Voices fading perfectly fast
You know these moments will soon be your last
Your soul is now an unwelcome guest
A broken heart is best not left
