The Curse

by Jø®jÃ¥   Sep 11, 2005

She looks in the mirror
And what does she see?
Nothing but fat and obesity.
Her friends say "Your silly,
Your not even fat"
She only wishes she could
See herself like that.
She goes to the bathroom and closes the door
And vows she'll no longer be fat anymore.
She looks at the toilet and drops to her knees
Sticks her fingers down her throat
And begins to heave.
The months go by and her habit gets worse
It started as a cure, now it's a curse.
She wants to stop, but now she's addicted
Though all the pain she's feeling
Is self-inflicted.
She looks in the mirror
Now what does she see?
A sickly figure, thin as can be.
The tears start to fall down her pale cheek
As she wipes them away,
She begins to feel weak.
Slowly her surroundings begin to go black
She puts her head down and lies on her back.
She closes her eyes and begins to drift
Next thing she knows she's now on a drip.
Her friends and family surround her bed
She starts to feel dizzy and light in the head.
They keep asking questions, the most
Common is "Why"? But all she can do is sit there and cry.
Although it seems hard and the process slow
Finally the day comes when
She can pack her bags and go.
All that pain and suffering it took
Just to realise
She was never even fat, she was
Always the perfect size.

Thanks for your comment on my poem. and ur poem really tells everything very clearly that i imagined scenes in front of my eyes while reading it. this anorexia something is very bad thing, no body has to be perfect like the hollywood stars, actually they are not perfect neither i think. maybe too much make up:)
