What you don't know

by Rain   Sep 12, 2005

What you don't know acts like a shield around you
To protect you from what might hurt.
What you don't know acts also like a barrier-
Between us, it separates the innocent from the not-so-innocent

You think you know "all"
You can laugh at yourself for how wrong you are!
You cannot possibly imagine what is the something you don't know
About people around you,
Friends,
And at last... me

(The something that scarred and pained me
so deep,
that I don't want to feel anything anymore.
Not sadness,
Not hurt,
Not anger,
Not regrets, not sorrow, not guilt
And not even happiness)

So here I am,
carrying with me the knowledge of what you don't know
what people around me don't know,
friends,
family,
The something nobody knows,
no one at all.
Just me...
Only me...
