She deals slyly with bravado....

She deals slyly with bravado and ease of skill
While enhancing her virtues through drink or pill
Music comes alive within her rhythmic form
Lightning flashes in her eyes like passion's storm

She employs a beauty that's casually worn
In a slip of a dress life's mended and torn
The depth of her soul's too shallow to fathom
Like a cloud of smoke or a misty phantom

A shrewd bargainer, she swaps money for love
Once sated she dislodges guilt with a shove
Mistress of the night, queen of bar and alley
Dispensing sex, unconcerned with the tally

A subtle scent of fear taints her girlish ways
While danger grates the shear fabric of her days
Soft ringlets of laughter emerge in her wake
Hollow sounds, denouncing her life as a fake

A lonely etching, life's forgotten to fill
Letting fear suckle her breast for the thrill
Avoiding all sun her skin's white as a pearl
As bright lights of the night cast a shadow girl.
