Loss of a Loved One

by Katie   Sep 15, 2005

He tries to live beneath a mask of lies
Everyone thinks his life is so painless
Staring at an empty wall as he cries
Wondering why his life is so reckless.

Considering death will cure this dire pain.
He wishes everything would go away
Knowing there is nothing to lose or gain,
He grasps the knife and begins to pray.

Marveling why no one has loved him
He looks at the petals of the flower on the floor
There's nothing left but the stem
The stem that was a flower from someone who once loved him

On no account did he believe in himself.
Believe in himself that someone out there did care and love for him
Now laying face down on the ground not knowing he was loved
Loved by the person that was so close to him
