Crash

by Matt   Sep 15, 2005

All I know is I'm about to hit this wall
Careening down the road at a thousand miles
Staring down the hood of the muscle car
Heartbeat blaring in my ears so I can't hear
Blood pulsing through my veins harder than ever...

Glad I could be the buffer in your life
Making a smooth transition from A to B
Happy to be the doormat you walked over
Grinding your heels into my open heart
Pack the wound with salt, I want to feel...

The blade slid in so quiet into my chest
Twisting, turning, wrenching in deeper pain
Glad I made it so easy for you to get here...

This one goes out to... Nah, it doesn't matter
Sorry I couldn't have been perfect for you
But I can't change who I am, not in this life
Thanks a hell of a lot for the support
You did a number on me this time, this chance...

This isn't coming out right at all
The words aren't mixing the right way
Sometimes I hate to be bothered
Between the pain and regret I'm filled with
I just don't know anymore, don't know at all...

The brakes work but my foot won't drop
It's coming soon, the crippling hit
You can see it in my eyes, there's no stopping
There will be nothing left for them to find
Here it is, I hope you know that I cared
And all I wanted to say before this was over was...
