I\'ll Be Your Broken Heart

by Talisa   Sep 18, 2005

You were yelling over my cries. I threw your necklace at your own feet.

You turned around.

I walked out.

I got in my car and I don't know how far I got before I realized I need you.

So I turned around.

But Mr. Semi Truck Man had other plans for me.

I'm not sure how many times I walked away from you, but I knew this would be the last time.

I'm not sure how many times I rolled across the pavement to realize.

This was it.

Those glasses you said I looked so cute in. Thet're shattered.

And stuck in my skin.

That lip gloss you are so used to tasting shares my lips with my own blood.

That eyeliner I used to always hide behind is smeared across my face.

And not hiding a thing.

That picture of you in my dashboard I hold so dear is in flames at my feet.

That cell phone I am always on with you is ringing uncontrollably.

It's blinking "my boo??."

I can't reach it. You know if I could in a heartbeat I would.

I'd scream I'm sorry for everything. I'd tell you to always remember me for the good I brought you, never the bad. I'd tell you I'll always look down on you. I'd say with my last words.

I love you.

You made my life every bit worth living.

I'm just sorry I couldn't fulfill it.

With you.
