Mistake

I made a mistake,
I know I did,
because the moment I remembered,
I knew it was true,
that the love we once shared,
would never exist in the same way.

I woke up crying the night it happened,
and even then I knew I was wrong,
you had hurt me in the past,
but I stuck by your side.

My friends told me to let go,
no need for hurt,
no need for pain,
They say they're sick and tired
of me crying,
but if they knew that i still did,
they would see that something was wrong,

They don't understand,
that i love you,
You don't understand that I love them.

Because if you did,
because if they did,
I wouldn't be caught in between love and friendship.

And I wouldn't be hurting,
Like i am at this moment,
You wouldn't be hurting either,
if I had stuck to what my heart said instead of my head,

The mistake I made,
Is breaking your heart,
as well as mine.

Love only comes,
once in a blue moon,
and I found,
and lost it within seconds.
