Once in a life time

All these fond memories playing In my head
Why is it that I am so much in sorrow
like a knife going through my heart instead
This pain is one I do not understand
I've tried to wish it away through a hard stern command

Yet it doesn't listen to me and begins to hurt me so much more
I finally realized that my heart is aching for someone I adore
Aching for someone I know I can not have
He is afraid of his future and scorned by his past
and I find myself wanting to be with him with each and every passing day
I hope he realizes that this is a love that will never fade away

If this love is such a Sin
Then why did it start, why did it begin
Why would God open our hearts and let this love begin
If this isn't true love then I don't know what is
I would give up everything to just be with him
I wouldn't care who say what and to whom
A love like this deserves a chance to bloom

Will he ever come around and see
That this love that we share is one that was meant to be
With all the thoughts that still go racing through his head
Will he finally see what his heart has been telling him all of this time
That a love like this is very hard to find
It happens only once in a life time
