To My Best Friend,

I know I have never told you,
My little secret I hold,
The one I keep tight with me,
The one so wild and bold.

Afraid it will harm our friendship,
I kept this secret real low,
But now I'm somewhat ready now,
So today you shall know...

On my first day of school,
I was nervous and shy,
That is when I met you,
Standing near by,

Your grin as wide from ear to ear,
Your eyes sparkled with a healthy joy,
You asked in the sweetest voice,
"Do you want to play with my new toy?"

We played together every day,
And you asked me to be your new friend,
You protected me from all the bullies,
And from all those who offend,

We slowly grew up together,
We'd see each other every day,
we would go outside together,
and play all night and day,

You promised me something,
That lovely day I turned eight,
You said in that sweet voice,
"I will forever be your friend, and not a day late."

All day and night long I smiled,
In a happy joyful daze,
Parents and teachers wondered,
Why I was in such a in a faze,

I never forgotten that day,
Even though I think our childhood ran fast,
My feelings for you grew up too,
I hope this wonderful feeling will last,

Even though,
I have these feelings for you,
I cant read your tender emotions,
So my dreams might not come true,

My dreams of being held in your arms,
resting my head on your strong chest,
listening to your sweet voice mumble,
as I close my eyes to rest,

But now you know my little secret,
And I can not longer pretend,
My secret is out in the open,
