Put Down Your Knife

by Tasha   Sep 22, 2005

There are so many times
When I want to fall back into my old ways
But then I remember how miserable I was
The times I cried, lonely nights and days

I've learned to trust some people
But none of them are like you
I have to get to know them first
But they've been through these things too

They've known what i\'s like
To feel like you're you're hated by all
They also know what it's like
To want to stop, but down you fall

But in the end we overcame it
Together, with all of their help
There are so many people that care about me
I now have more than my self

I know that they won't deceive me
Not everyone is like you
But I'm learning to forgive
Maybe I can forgive you too.

I know you betrayed my trust
I know you\\\'ve done it before
But these words of wisdom
Struck something in my core

"Forgive but don't forget."
"You only have one life to live."
"Never give up." and
"Give all you have to give."

Maybe what I'm supposed to give you
Is the gift of enjoying life
Although you don't self injure
I hope you decide to put down your knife.

**What I mean there, is not actually about him cutting himself. It means maybe he'll stop his old ways (for me it would be cutting) and decide to trust in Jesus.**

I really liked this, it kinda lost me in the middle but the ending brought it together very well. Good job, I hope to read more by you soon. 5/5
