My Friend - Part 2

by Laurence Hill   Nov 27, 2003

So my friend you leave today
Your desk is packed so you can go away
The grey clouds gather overhead
They make me blue
I’m glad I’ve met a friend like you!

You’re smiling face and warm embrace, will be sorely missed
I think of you most everyday in everything I do
The coffee and chocolate you always shared
Helped me cope because it showed you cared
Oh! My friend I’m glad I met you!

To tell you how I really feel is hard for me to do
The love, the care and happiness we share, I will hold forever true
To remember all we said and did and all that we’d been through
I’m glad my friend is you!

You know I don’t make friends that easy
It’s hard for me to do
But there’s something special about you that attracted me
A warm endearing manner or the way you’re heart shines through
Oh! I’m glad I now have a friend that’s you!

I have a place set aside for you, it lives within my heart
A place were you and I can walk and talk, and think about old times
You helped me up when I got down and put me on the mend
My memories are all I have unless
Please keep in touch my friend
