We had a long talk today
about what the future has in store
and even though it breaks my heart
its still you that i adore

you said that you were sorry
and that you never meant to hurt me
but this was never supposed to happen
and we weren't meant to be

you say that you care about me
and you hope that ill be OK
you say it kills you to do this
but her love you cant betray

I just looked out the window
and silently began to cry
why did this have to happen
when i found the perfect guy

i know one day you'll be gone
you cant even be my friend
and i guess thats where
the rainbow comes to an end

but just because my heart is broken
i will still continue to breathe
so that means i will survive
even though you decided to leave
