You Put...

by Nicholas Kerst   Sep 24, 2005

You put meaning in my life,
And replaced it with this strife.
You put a smile on my face,
Then you slapped it off with grace.
You put your body in my arms,
And then you left me without charm.
You put love back into it,
Then you turned my heart to s h i t.
You put "sorry" in your goodbye,
I know that was a lie.
You put meaning in my life,
Then replaced it with this knife.

AUTHORS NOTES: Yes I am aware that i posted this in love poems...but after I read it again I decided it should go here...sorry for the confusion

You are right: it does belong in the sadness more than love. Great write Nick. I loved it. Especially how you used the repetition of "You put" Excellent work as usual.
