I Promised Myself

by Lost & Delirious   Sep 24, 2005

I seriously promised myself all my life,
To never dare to damage my fragile heart,
To never abandon and leave it in the dark,
Without real wings, never try to fly high.

Since the day I stopped and saw you at school,
I thought to my insides: "I'll never be your fool"
But, just with your careless whispers of yesterday,
You took and spinned my naive heart in a single day.

I'm sure that for you it's only an innocent game,
You don't have to let me know you don't really care,
I would like to tell you: "That's enough", make you hush,
But finally I have to realize, I do have a crush.

So I'll live a while in my harmless denial,
Then figure out there's no way out,
I'll give you my insane and tearful heart,
Hoping you'll make it feel right.

You'll just grab it, without thinking,
That my mind is slowly sinking,
Cause, endlessly thinking and dreaming about you,
Means, feeling I'm not good enough for you.

    Another great job..
I love how all the poems I've read from you so far are nice, short, and sweet, yet get right to the point and still have so much emotional depth. Great job 5/5
