For real, Thanks

We met a long time ago
So long ago infact
That I don't even remember how
We didn't think nor expect much of it then
We where both so young at the time
But I now have allot to thank you for
More than you might even know

We where classmates through elementary
But we taught that after that
We would never get to meet again
So at the end of it
We said our goodbyes
And went our different ways

As junior high went by
I almost forgot about you
And than around came Senior high

I was expecting to meet many
I even made a list in my head
But you where not on that List
But still there you where
After 5 years
We actually got to meet again

As school moved along
You became friends
With some of my more recent friends
And with some I never met
And amongst those
Was this one particular girl
A girl like none I had ever met
The girl I would fall in love with
And stay in love with
Until the present day

So I have you
My oldest friend
To thank for helping me find
My first, real love
You, the one I know the longest
Helped me find
The one I would eventually know the best
And that would make me feel complete
