One Last Dance

by Taylor   Sep 25, 2005

When hip-hop turned to slow song
Internally I prayed that you'd ask
But you barely even notice me as
You walked by me towards her and
Whispered "next time" in my ear

When the DJ played the love song
Maybe you didn't have time to hear
That this was the last song tonight
As you pulled her into the lights
Did you ever look back to see me

Would you have even noticed if my
Eyes had welled up with tears and
I ran fast to be anywhere but there
When her hands were on your neck
And you reached right for her hips

Did you even think of me when you
Drove home, was I even a thought
In your head when you layed down
Did it occur to you how much I was
Going threw trying to figure it out

I tried so hard not to think of you
Not to cry myself to sleep at night
But I had to wonder if your cared
I thought when could "next time" be
I think you owe me one last dance
