Torn family

by rick   Sep 25, 2005

As childhood passes by you see the things you want
in this case you see the needs, the needs they seem to taunt
grandparents bring joy every year, bringings gifts to ease your mind
now they lay in little boxes, no longer one of a kind.
simple things amuse the young, they make the children smile
sister made the decision, grinding my thoughts like a file
siblings play and fight for fun, those days went by so fast, now with family torn, slow days only pass
mothers love and care, makes me feel so happy and high
now the betrayal sets in, only in sadness will i sigh.
fathers trips to the woods, shooting, fishing and drinking beer
now nothing but memories, thinking about you every year
