Letting Go

by Brian   Sep 25, 2005

Letting you go and trying to forget
Would take a great deal to achieve
How you can turn it off so soon
Is something that is hard to believe

I swept you off your feet
Or so you have said
Ironically it is me
Who is left hurt instead

You made me accept as true
In love at first sight
Like some fairy tale novel
Where the ending seems so right

However, there is no movie script
No paperback best seller
This is real life and real dreams
That are tossed in a cellar

No more sad poems to be wrote
Illuminating my pain
Raising you on a pedestal
And glorifying your name

I know you are done
And your "give a damns are busted"
But in all my life of love
Your heart is the one I trusted

Wishing you all the best
And all the world's happiness
Wishing I could hold you forever
And be the last one you kiss

Seasons will come and go
But there will always be
Memories and smiles
My love...you and me
