LOST LIVES

by Lips Of An Angel   Sep 25, 2005

There are people all around me.
They Don't know i'm here.
So many sirens sounding,
Echoing so loud and clear.

I try to yell out to them,
But I can't get my breath.
I'm feeling tired and weak.
I need to be still and rest.

I hear the policemen's voices,
And shuffling of the rubble.
There's water from the firemen,
I'm cold, i'm laying in a puddle.

Please let someone find me,
I can't hold on much longer.
My family at home needs me.
I'll have to be a bit stronger.

I'm bleeding really bad,
I think my leg is gone.
I have a feeling,
That now it won't be long.

I can't believe this is happening.
I'm not ready to go.
Just how much I love them,
Does my family really know?

The sirens are getting quiet.
I see a really bright light.
I was so scared at first, but
I'm no longer full of fright.

Don't you cry.
It's so wonderful here.
Someday you'll be with me again,
This place is nothing to fear.

I'll be watching over you, my FRIENDS.
MEGHAN loved you so.
Today I died hoping...
Hoping this you know!

I liked the idea of this poem very much. my favorite stanza was the opening one, it really got the poem started off well.
