Wishing for the Moon

I walk down this deserted street
looking down at every worn step
I see the endless road go on without me
Knowing i can never go that far
The darkness consumes every hint of existence
as these dying streets call to me every lonely night

I feel a faint light hovering up by the path
and look up with stained hope
but seeing only a rusty old lamppost
I scorn and turn my disappointed face away
Wishing only for the moon.

This soft black jacket covers my cold heart
As the hood conceals beneath them shifty eyes
I walk among the shadows as they whisper my sins
Yet all is silent, every footstep i take every breath i hold in.
Another night as nothing more than a ghost to the world

Theres only 1 sane thing to do at night on the streets
Is to think, something that drives me insane
Think of things no one my age should understand
Like wondering why were living just to die
And yet, inside were dying to know what its like to live.
All my life I've only wished for death
But I've worked so hard to stay alive

Now at night is when i find the answer
Listen to the silence of the night and you'll see
The true melodies is that nighttime is in between
Hell and Heaven, life and death.
And all i can think about now is the moon.

Hide my soul beneath the shadows
only wishing for the moon
howl hauntingly for the worthwhile
Knowing my time will end soon

...I don't know where I'm going..
And I don't remember where I've been...

Sadly, the sun will come soon
I'll have to look another night for the moon.
