Embracing No Forever.

by Not Bulletproof   Sep 27, 2005

I'm tired of being lied to these days,
so sick of hearing about an untrue forever,
that's supposedly real...but I'm not dumb,
you can't fool me for the better.

I see the cloudy skies and the misshapen rainbows,
you can say you see the sun, but you won't one day,
and you'll apologize for pretending you understood,
"now I see exactly what you cried over", you'll say.

And I could say "I told you so",
I could see it coming a million miles away,
but only because I know how it goes,
because we all feel the same one day.

I lie on my living room floor and soak up the sun,
the window on the door lets it break through.
Warmth could consume me, but I'd still feel cold,
like the sun gives me a glow, but I'm a shade of blue.

I see a true forever in the sky,
because its forever miles away,
but I can never see it in your eyes,
because you never plan to stay.

The stars are true and they'll always be up there,
twinkling and shining light into these eyes of mine.
A soft glow you won't see forever, just because,
you won't be here forever, but only for a short time.

I raise my hands upwards,
to embrace the only trueness I see...
but as my hands reach higher,
I notice it won't reach back to me.

And that's when I wish you could have meant a true forever.

This poem was utter perfection, the way you use the sun and the stars to describe forever. The picture I got when reading this poem was beautiful beyond words. Forever may never be true with anyone, but the most you can do about that is push that fact aside and live like it is. You can't constantly live thinking and knowing everyone will leave you, because you will end up falling further away from them and by doing that you would never know if it was a true forever or not. I love you Sarah. Stay strong for me
