Stained Photograph

by Flea   Oct 2, 2005

As the blood drips down
Fingertips on your photograph
So many words left unsaid
Broken memories in my head
I'd rather not sit back and watch
As the horrors fill my eyes
And my bloody hands reach out
To a spirit only I can see
You leave me feeling empty
Yet so full of torment
And as the blood soaks through
Ugly stains on my shirt
I wish that you could see
The pain you cause inside
As the sky fades to stars
Stars we once laid beneath
I don't want you to apologise
For making the stars fade away
And I see you in my eyes
And I feel it in my heart
But all I really see
Bloody fingerprints on it
Staining a perfect photograph
