A Poem for the Sad and Lonely

by Jo   Oct 2, 2005

I sit here with my head in my hands,
Wondering what life would be like without all the drama;
Without life's troubles.

I paint a pretty picture in my mind,
Without the drugs, alcohol, and disrespect;
Without the violence.

I ponder on the idea of everyone getting along,
Everyone treating each other with respect,
No one bringing up bad memories or a bad past;
No bad past or memories to bring up.

I also wonder if the world will miss me once I'm gone,
How I would be remembered;
If I'd be remembered;
How important I was to anyone;
If I was important to anyone.

I let my mind wonder off to another setting,
Thinking whether or not I'd be missed tomorrow;
If no one found me.

I wonder why it has to be so hard just to live,
Why my life is so hard to live,
Why my life is so horrible;
Why I hate my life.

I ball up my paper, throw it away, and start over...

I sit here with my head in my hands,
Wondering what life would be like without all the drama;
Without life's troubles.

    Life would be great without the drama and the trouble, but we have to wait and get that in heaven.
    Your poem had deep feeling and a despaired question, and I liked that.

    Good Writing!
