I Can't Make You (Fall In Love With Me Again)

Nothing is as it was before
I hardly even know myself any more
Even complete strangers can see the difference
No longer do my eyes glow with the same stunning brilliance
The people who supposedly care about me don’t seem to recognize
The day-by-day change that takes place within my eyes
Struggling to hold on
Soon enough I shall be gone
Lying on the floor, crying in pain
All of my hope slowly beginning to drain
You were the spark that I held on to so tight
You were my only guiding light
Holding me close on the days I felt bad
Whispering loving words to make me un-sad
What hurts me the most is when I go outside only to hear the singing wren
Finally realizing, I can’t make you fall in love with me again

    'Whispering loving words to make me un-sad'
    I feel that maybe change the word un-sad to something like smile, or any words that can express what you want us to feel, 'cause 'un-sad' seems to disturb the flow alittle. Anyway, maybe it's just me, if that is so, ignore me. =)

    Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this piece, all the emotions are there, naked and felt. The last line brings an even more powerful emotion, something like hopelessness. Great write! =D
