Dreams of Gold

~Dreams of Gold~

Light shining brightly
through life's opaque glass.
Can't know where you've been
'till you know where you're at.

With the past glaring from behind
and the future staring from ahead,
it feels like it's all coming unwound,
continuous spinning, now there's only a thread.

One option pulling left,
yet another pulls right.
Everyone wants to influence the choice,
Once a clear view, is now a blurred sight.

To have tunnel vision
is now to have gold.
Don't settle for silver
in destiny's copper mold.

Melt down your dreams,
harden them with faith.
Don't coat them with fake covering
with words that others say.

When you know what you want, accept nothing less,
no one else knows how you feel.
Stay true to your beliefs, and, throughout your life,
don't let dreams of gold become steel.
