The Girl and The Boy

by Laura   Oct 3, 2005

First day of 6th grade,
Nervous as can be,
Takes her seat and looks around,
Asks herself, Do they notice me?
Months go by,
She fits in well,
But somethings missing,
She can tell.
Then one day,
Something changed her life,
A boy walked up to her,
Said she looked nice.
She got lost in his eyes,
To the dance, he asked her,
All these weird feelings,
Inside of her, began to steer.
She'd never been in a relationship before,
So she rushed this one by fast,
Began to get clingy,
Oh how she thought it'd last.
She screwed it up though,
She made herself fall in love,
Only to get shot down,
As helpless as a dove.
He broke her heart,
Little did he know,
He just killed her inside,
She felt oh so low.
They started hanging out again,
When 7th grade began,
She knew they would have to stay,
Unfortunately..just friends.
They became so close,
And she tried to move on,
She dated other guys,
But broke it off before to long.
She knew deep down,
He still held her soul,
Even if he didn't like her,
She'd never be able to let him go...
By 8th grade,
They were the best of friends,
They were always talking and hanging out,
Finally it's real..no longer just her dreams.
He tells her friend he made a mistake,
How he should have never broke her heart,
Back in sixth grade,
Where this love thing began to start.
He said how stupid he must have been,
To break it off with this girl,
But she doesn't think much of it,
Since all he did was wreck her world.
She finally thought she was over him,
Until his girlfriend broke his heart,
And she could feel his pain inside,
Chasing her throughout the dark.
She wondered if he liked her,
After-all that night had brung,
Maybe just maybe the couple from sixth grade..
Was back like a remix of an old song.
