Just Another Night of Pain-lyrics from Smile Empty Soul

by Jo   Oct 4, 2005

I'm so sick of living a life full of pain;
Of living outside the circle.

'It always seems so good, on the other side.'

Life often seems worthless
When looking into the mirror,
And seeing the damage I've caused.

'It always looked so good, on the other side.'

It's hard to know that the eyes staring back at you,
Are the eyes of your enemy,
Piercing into your long lost soul,
Like the knife you dug into your skin.

'Maybe it's not so good, on the other side.'

I try to talk to the shadow in the mirror,
Wondering why it causes me so much pain,
But it never answers back;
It only answers with its cold, blue eyes,
Hencing at the knife in my hand.

'It always seemed so good, on the other side.'

I drop the knife and wait on my bed
Until someone finds me;
Until I've escaped the pain once again.
But no one comes this time,
And I'm left to suffer the pain alone.

'It always looked so good, on the other side.'

Maybe I was wrong
When I thought it'd be better on the other side.
Because when I got there,
I still felt the hurt, the pain, and the hatred
That my soul left me to bear.

'Maybe it's not so good, on the other side.'

Then I heard a voice,
But it was only my own as I woke up the next day.
And as I grabbed that same knife,
The voice said once again;

I'm so sick of living a life full of pain;
Of living outside the circle.

'Someday I will lay me down, on the grass where everything is greener.'

'It always seems so good, on the other side.'
