Until She

by © Cassie   Oct 7, 2005

Abuse her.
hit her
slap her
punch her
kick her while
she's down.
Lower her moral until
she thinks she's worthless.

Yell, scream and shout
obscenities until she
breaks down crying.
Call her
fat, stupid and ugly
until she believes every word.

Monitor and question
every movement she makes,
until she's too scared
to move without your consent.

Make her do things that
you know she's not ready for.
Get her pregnant,
knowing the poor girl isn't ready.
Force her to marry you,
knowing she's not sure about the commitment.
Control her until
she thinks she's weak,
believes she wants to be with you,
and imagines she's in love
with you.

Hurt her and kill her slowly
until she realizes
what she's doing
isn't healthy for her.

Leave her stranded
when she says she's done.
Beat her until she's
too scared to try and leave.

The hateful words
she can no longer take.
She's finally confided
in a friend,
praying she will get out.

She knows one day
you'll end up pushing too hard,
and she'll uncover
your weaknesses,
not hers.

She'll turn you in
and leave you to find
someone that loves her
and won't beat her.
Then what?
Who are you going
to control then?
You'll be in jail,
unable to control anyone.
For the first time in years,
she'll be happy
and able to do
whatever her heart desires,
and you'll be labeled
for the rest of your life.

She's happy now, though;
in love with a wonderful new man.
She's not scared
of him or you
or love anymore.
She has become
a beautiful, strong woman
that knows she doesn't
need a man to
help her through life.
