A father's heart a daddy's hand

by george   Oct 10, 2005

I love being a dad. my kids bring out the best in me. i want them to have strong ears to hear and good eyes to see. from walking and talking to learning to take a stand. i want them to feel their father's heart in their daddy's hand. black and white, good and bad, right and wrong, that's the legacy i want to leave. not just wiping noses with my clean white shirt sleeve. from sitting on my lap reading a book to receiving that childly look. it's not about gourmet meals or burning the morning toast. it's about being there for them when they need me the most. from recital's to ball games, to lunch at school. from trips to the park, movies and the pool. my kids are my pride and joy, and i thank god for my girl and my boy. one day they will get older and I'll have to set them free. then i hope the best in them will have been the best in me. i hope they serve the lord and do the best they can. i hope they will feel their father's heart in their daddy's hand.
