My Mistake

The last breath I breathe.
Is the moment you leave.
When you're gone, there's no me.
Blinded by love, I couldn't see.
Tears covered every inch of my eye.
Couldn't notice each and every lie.
I didn't realize the obvious.
Your love was delirious.
How your words got to me.
How she toyed with me.
My friends told me she was trouble.
But I was moving to fast, on the double.
Swiftness of my movements I couldn't hear other voices.
So I had no other options, no other choices.
I never spoke from the mind, only from the heart.
Now I know my mistake and it's pulling us apart.
