Accepting the truth

by Casey Adams   Dec 3, 2003

>~ Emma always remembered ~<

When I first heard the news
I didn’t believe it was true,
I couldn’t accept the fact
That death had taken you.

Wrapped its cold bone fingers
Around your warming heart
Floated through your inside
And left us torn apart.

Left us hear to cry
Tears that won’t be heard
Screaming from within
But no one hears a word.

Lost within a world of
Despair, hatred and pain
I know time will pass but
I’ll never forget your name.

You’ve left little footsteps
Imprinted on my heart
We ask why you finished
And why did you start?

Why did you start to end your life?
Why did you want to die?
We are so sorry you have left us
But can you tell us why?

But it’s over now your gone
You vanished just that day
But deep within our bodies
In our hearts you’ll always stay.

I’ll pray for you every night
But I’m angry with you too
You’ve hurt a lot of people
Coz the love they had for you.

If you can hear me now
And the prayers that have been said
You’ll understand the love
And the tears that have been shed

But now I’ve heard the news
And I know that it is true
I’ve learnt to accept the fact
That death has taken you.

NOTE: Please comment if you like this poem, thank you so much.

Emma Herde killed herself (hung) on the 18th of Nov 03, you’ll always be remembered Emma and I have dedicated this second poem to you, even though I didn’t know you extremely well, I still shared life with you and I’m sorry it ended this way. Love always Casey.

once again, another well written and mature poem! reflects the frustration, pain and confusion we feel when someone we know takes their own life... i hope suicidal persons read this and draw strength from it knowing that there are many pple out there who cares. good one!

thank you for dropping by my poems! you are very sharp! i try to write in metaphorical terms hoping the reader could interprete my meanings rather than a straightforward reading. you are the first to notice that! thank you!

    no more poems from you???
