Why do we hurt those
we love the most?
We love them dearly
We hold them close
Why is it we break their heart,
crush their soul?
Looks were lovingly warm
Now horribly cold.
If we know this...why do we
put in so much sweat?
Work to make it better
To wish we never met
Why do we try to go on?
When we know it's no use
Do we even get close
Or do we turn them loose?
Would't it be safer
Not to love at all??
But then again
Isn't love Life's loudest call?
